Here's a total youtube feast coming from the driving force behind the famous music project Caribou. Canadian artist Dan Victor Snaith has put together a Youtube playlist of 1000 songs for you, as a good way to say thanks to the entire universe.

Besides working on the prestigious Caribou project, Snaith has been a long time music seeker, digging through crates and doing loads of edits to unknown, forgotten or just totally obscure tracks from all over the world, under his Daphni moniker.

''I'm sure some things are under-represented or over-represented, but roughly speaking this is a musical history of my life. Of course a lot of this music has come to me through my friends..Due to a fault in youtube's playlist coding if you embed this playlist it will be truncated down to 200 tracks. Hopefully they will resolve that at some point but for now if you want to hear all 1000 songs you need to listen at this link '', Snaith writes on his facebook page.

We don't want to spoil any surprise, but beware a totally adventurous selection, from Aphrodite's Child to '69 psych Le Orme, American singer Marlena Shaw, out of this world rapper Madvillain, Gary David, Alice Coltrane, Charanjit Singh, some good old J Dilla, the psychedelic electronic music group Silver Apples, soul hero Shuggie Otis, Turkish rock king Bariș Manco, electronic finest Rhythm & Sound, dub residents Sly & The Family Stone - and this is just from the first 100 tracks. Definitely deserves taking a peep.
