Techno maverick Shifted is releasing his third solo album on October 18th on Hospital Productions, the imprint curated by Vatican Shadow aka Prurient.

'Appropriation Stories' follows Shifted’s previous two albums, first on Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver label in 2012 and second on Bed Of Nails (Hospital Productions sub-label) in 2013. Recently released on Shifted’s imprint - AVIAN - is the brilliant new album from SHXCXCHCXSH.

Guy Alexander Brewer is a mysterious and eclectic character who has been releasing not only under his Shifted alias, but recently also as Alexander Lewis and Covered In Sand, and in the past he was half of the successful drum’n’bass duo Commix.

At first presenting itself as a dense wall of sound underpinned by an incessant pulse, ‘Appropriation Stories’ at length reveals itself to be a much more complex work. In place of the stark minimalism, razor-sharp digital textures or smeared analogue surfaces of his previous output, we are given layered tracks whose intricate mixes reveal themselves over time.

Track list:
1. This Passage
2. Vacive
3. Flatlands
4. Life Backwards
5. Resin & Lacquer
6. Watchers
7. For Closure
8. In Respect Of Tactics
9. Spires
10. The Faintest Trace, The Quietest Whisper
