Phew is one of the most important figures of the Japanese avant-garde scene, who began her career as a vocalist of the legendary punk band of Osaka: Aunt Sally (releasing her first album on Vanity Records), then started her project Phew with collaborators like Ryuichi Sakamoto, members of Can (Holger Czukay, Jaki Liebezeit), Conny Plank, DAF, EinstĂĽrzende Neubauten, Dieter Moebius of Cluster, Otomo Yoshihide.

Her new album Light sleep sounds fresh, giving space to improvisation and play, to furious rhythms that have brought her comparisons with Suicide / Alan Vega. Check out the official videoclip for the song CQ Tokyo, the most provocative and challenging track of the album.
