While the voice travels through wires from one telephone to the other, words and feelings are transformed into mere technological reactions. While the voice travels from one mobile phone to the other, empty space is filled with emotions, lies, thoughts...soulfulness. We can feel closure no matter how far apart we are and it's not an illusion. After all, closure is what enables us to express ourselves to each other.
Echoes are efforts of sounds doing their best to be heard, to reach their destination or to fill desolation. Technological glitches are related to distance. Blurry images, muffled sounds and distortion in general are easy to associate with physical distance or not so fresh memories we had the chance to capture. Distortion became a contemporary artistic tool used when the intention of the artist is to induce nostalgia onto the receiver. After all, distortion is what happens even to ourselves while aging. We take decay as a naturally occurring phenomenon. Infinity is harder to create a connection with since we are rather tempted to sympathize with transience and loss.
Transcending the sense of time through echoing spacial loops, Casi Cada Minuto defies conventional construction of electronic music by the means of futuristic, almost out of this planet sounds, heavily resembling those recorded beyond the boarders of Earth.
Imre Kiss' washed out chunky beats are whirling around androgynous vocal samples, giving a ghostly atmosphere to his tracks while floaty synth rhythms go hand in hand with the hidden techno substance which lays at the very base of his work on this release.
A-Sites is approaching both future and past, with a nostalgic tint to the structures of each producer's tracks. The overall sound resembles a deep digging for well hidden, almost unknown melodies which are to be discovered in an instinctive manner.
