Romanian Contemporary Music - Part 2

Published

November 22, 2020

This is the second part of our long podcast on Romanian contemporary music. In the first part we listened to music released mainly at the Electrecord record label, under the series Contemporary Romanian Music, and in our second part of this podcast, I’ll try to present some more recent musicians, composers and performers, who are forming and shaping the Romanian contemporary, experimental and improvised music and sound art of today.

We’re gonna listen to music that is challenging, progressive, introspective or just simply weird or different. I also have a special guest in this episode, Romanian musician Diana Miron.

Music by Diana Rotaru, Alina Kalancea, Ana-Maria Avram, Adrian Borza, Doina Rotaru, Simina Oprescu, Her Voice (Diana Miron, Carmen Coțofană, Maria Balabaș and Bogdana Dima), Mischa Blanos & Khori Ander, Polochord, Somnoroase Păsărele, Michiu & Fierbințeanu, Shanyio and Iancu Dumitrescu (performed by Stephen O'Malley).

Tune in. We're also on SoundCloud.
