Ahead of this Friday’s release of Helado Negro’s Private Energy (Expanded) by the American RVNG Intl., visual artist Robert Beatty drums up a primal psychedelia in the animated video for Lengua Larga.

According to Roberto Lange (aka Helado Negro), the song’s title is "a Spanish phrase used to describe someone who talks behind your back or rats someone out." Written about Lange’s Ecuadorian relative who immigrated into the US, and still remains without documentation, the lyrics in “Lengua Larga” speak to the paranoia of feeling surveilled and unsafe in your own home.

RVNG’s expanded edition of Helado Negro’s Private Energy is out this Friday, May 5. The same day, Lange plays two free shows at New York City's Brookfield Place for the Waves of Tradition celebration celebration before touring with Mitski and Sylvan Esso throughout the year.
